The Western Maryland Affiliate of the Mid Atlantic Region of the WOCN wishes all
a very happy and prosperous new year!!!
We finished off the year with a very successful regional fall conference in the beautiful mountain resort of Rocky Gap in Flintstone, MD. Many timely presentations were provided and we were fortunate to have wonderful speakers such as Courtney Lyder to educate and entertain us! Many of our industry representatives were on hand to show us new products and also provide education to help us to provide the best care options to the patients that we serve. A fabulous time was had by all!
The affiliate is very sad to have lost our friend and colleague, Jane Carson RN CWOCN. Jane was a WOCN nurse at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia. She had a passion for WOCN nursing and was active in the affiliate as treasurer. Jane was a fun loving person and a wonderful WOCN nurse. We will all remember her fondly and miss her very much.
We are planning our first member meeting of the year on January 26, 2012 at Meritus Medical Center at 6 pm. We will be conducting a business meeting and planning our education for the year.
