News Updates

updated 7/23/20

Several of our members re certified for another 5 years:

Bridget Ahern, Ferne Elsass and Rosemary Brown all re certified in wound and ostomy, Virginia Lisenby re certified in wound, ostomy and continence and Sarah Rush became newly certified in ostomy.

Longtime member Penny Crawford, re certified as a Family NP for 5 more years, applied for her independent practice license, and she retired from her other jobs.

Our current HR president and MAR secretary, Ferne Elsass, has been very busy. Besides re certifying, Ferne and co-author Stephanie Furtado, presented one poster at the WOCNext 2020 National Conference, A Novel Approach to Incontinent Associated Dermatitis in Pediatric patients. She is a content expert for two publications on the Wound Care Learning Network platform “Active Leptospermum Honey” and “The Trauma Wound and Wound Management with Active Leptospermum Honey”. Along with Dr. Vita Boyar, she has a publication in Wound Management and Prevention, “Single-use Negative Pressure Therapy and the Pediatric Patient”.

Congratulations on everyone’s accomplishments. What an awesome group of individuals!
