WOC Nurse in Washington

WOCN® Nurse in Washington:

2012 WOC Nurse in WashingtonThe WOCN Society is once again sponsoring the WOC Nurse in Washington program that will take place April 16-17, 2012.

The WOC Nurse in Washington program is a two-day public policy and advocacy skill-building workshop held in Washington, DC. The participants attending this workshop will learn to effectively communicate the WOCN® agenda items identified by the Board and NPPC to members of the House and Senate (coordinated and scheduled by legislative consultants). The first day of the skill building workshop covers the basics of how Washington functions and how to deliver the “WOCN® message”. This is done in preparation for the second day of the workshop, which consists of visits to selected members of the House and Senate (coordinated and scheduled by legislative consultants).

WOCN® will provide two night’s hotel, food & beverage, and an educational session and materials. The participant will be responsible for his or her own transportation to and from the hotel in Washington, DC.

The MAR WOCN will support the participant with  $1500.00 funding.  Each year we rotate affiliates to send a participant.  This year the Western Maryland Affiliate will send a participant and next year it will be the Blue Ridge Affiliate.

The WOCN Society also has scholarship money available for anyone who would like to attend WOC Nurse in Washington.
